South Bay Chinese Gospel Church, located in Fremont, California, has been dedicated to bringing the Gospel of the Lord to the Chinese community for more than thirty years.
The church was started in the summer of 1981 by pastor Chin-Yen Cheng right after he graduated from Scribe School of Peninsula Bible Church. Out of God’s calling, the first Sunday worship started out with three couples in the pastor’s house on November 15, 1981. During the past thirty years, the church’s location has been moved, year after year due to increasing congregation, from pastor’s house, to Milpitas Christian School, to Samuel Ayer High School, and to it’s presently owned building. Praise the Lord!
SBCGC has been one of the Chinese churches that get actively involved in our Silicon Valley community and participate in beneficent ministries such as City Team, Sacred Heart and Family Giving Tree. Our church has also continuously been the sponsor of at least three international missionary organizations.
Five brothers and sisters among us have received God’s calling and become full-time workers for worldwide Gospel. Every year, we have people whose soul were touched by God and were baptized in our church move out of this area and become the salt and the light in their new neighborhood.
